Have any of you been to a mall lately? I don't know about you, but the prices on some clothing gives me sticker shock. I LOVE to look good and have nice clothes, but I see no reason to drop BIG dollars on clothing. I could MAYBE understand dropping a ton of cash on a customer one-of-a-kind Haute Couture gown, but I am not in that league at the moment. Therefore, why buy a dress for $100 when I can get one just as pretty for a fraction of that cost?
For example, I picked up an adorable summer dress by Rampage for only $1.00:
I love shoes, but I'm all about comfort. I found a pair of Cole Haan Shoes from a local thrift shop (not a big name thrift store) for only $4.00:
The Rampage dress shown above would have set you back at least $70 at the mall and the Cole Haan shoes would have been in the same $70 range. I got both for $5.00. I ended up giving the rampage dress away as a birthday present and the shoes were eventually sold on eBay (but buying and flipping is for another post).
My point is that you can look great and stylish without maxing out your credit cards or ruining your budget. Thrift shops are a great way to spruce up a tired wardrobe any day of the week.
